One thing that all Moms will notice immediately about their Baby’s head shape is if they begin to get a flat head in the back of their head. Spending too much time on their back can lead to this, this is why incorporating daily exercises is so important. Most of the time, this will go away on it’s own, but if you would like to prevent it all together, here are some tips:

  • Keep having tummy time daily. Not only does this strengthen your Baby’s head, neck and back muscles, but it helps with balancing their head and reducing that flat head appearance.
  • Whether you are using a basinet or a crib, change the position that the Baby is lying down. One day place your Baby’s head at the top of their basinet/crib, but the next day, place their head at the foot of the crib/basinet.
  • You can also wear your baby throughout the day when they are awake or even asleep. Use a Baby sling or a baby carrier. This also takes off pressure from your Baby’s head and will prevent that flat look.
  • You can simply hold your Baby in an upright sitting position to help have bonding time and also relieve pressure from your Baby’s head. Plus, you can use this time to work on those eye exercises with a rattle or a toy that makes noise!
