I hope you’re still having fun and using some of the past weeks exercises as well, but let’s add some new ones into the mix.
- As your baby’s vision is improving, try either holding your baby to face you, while sitting on your lap, making sure to support your baby’s head. Begin by changing your facial expressions. Try a frown, then smile. Look surprised and lift your eyebrows. Then, look to the left and the right. Also, try sticking out your tongue and bringing it back in. These exercises will help with vision and imitation as well as self-expression.
- Continue improving your baby’s listening skills and language development by singing a lullaby to your baby. Having different pitches and tones adds to their language development that will come later.
- You can take your baby’s hands and make them go around in a tumbling motion then stop. Then start again, by saying “go” and when you stop, say “stop.” This helps your baby discover self-awareness with their hands by bringing them to their mid-line and also develops listening skills and language development. Do the same with your baby’s feet, begin with “go” and do bicycle movements, then say “stop.”
